    D1 interior roof lining

I have a 95 Discovery & the roof lining is drooping & I realize it is a common problem with them but the quotes I have had to get it replaced seem very expensive , that is around the $ 400 mark. How does that sound ? I am in Sydney so any people out there that know someone who can do a good job & beat $400 can you let me know?
    Thanks, Jon.

    Hey Jon

Had mine done about a year ago up here in Brissy and it was $300 so your price sounds fair for Sydney, they actually pull the whole inner roof shell out to reapply the new liner so a bit of work has to be done for the job.

Was gunna take the shell out myself but wade up the time and effort and couldn't be bothered, let them do it.

    Cheers

Does the $400 include R&R or if you have it out already?

If it includes R&R then it's probably about right.

Give Parramatta Auto Trimming a call for a price, they do our trim work.

    I am doing my own.
Bought a roof liner kit out of the USA for the Disco, comes with glue and a choice of fabrics, cost was A$175 shipped to my door.
Pulling the liner out is not that difficult, a few screws and platic studs, remove side wall liners and the whole liner slips out pretty easy.
Bit of a messy job removing the old fabric, then you need to clean the 'main' liner up before you fit the new fabric.
Its not that difficult at all.

    Hi All
I have a 96 D1 and the lining is falling in it also.
    I have been quoted $650 r&r.
If you find somewhere, I am interested as well.

Mine was done in Sydney maybe 5 years ago (before I bought it) and the invoice I have for it is around the $380 mark from memory. Have heard them being done a lot cheaper though.

I'd say it is fairly labour intensive so I feel that $400 drive in/drive out is quite reasonable.

Yes it will take a few hours, but for the diehard enthusiast/handyperson quite satisfying

Do you have a link for this? Also, did you buy it while the dollar was good?
