I can be fixed. I have said on this thread but a reminder. Get super glue, and needles from the chemist. Put the..... stuff it, look at the photo.
One shows the tools. The other shows the results on my back RRC seat.
The seat as you can see is very square, no sagging and all the contours are followed. This seat was very saggy when I got it, with no defined contours, it was flat, I injected it about 30 times I suppose. The headlining admittedly is harder to do as its up-side-down, and the cloth sticks to you finger a bit of your not quick enough. However the roof lining looked nearly as good as my seat, and its now a technique I use to correct these sorts of problems. I have never had the superglue come apart.
The thing you are trying to do with the headlining is inject the superglue to the hard wood part of the roof, through the sponge. Then press the headlining onto the superglue spot, compressing it so the cloth lining is now glued to the wood. You now have a spot where the headlining is not sagged. If you do it in neat rows with equal spacing it looks really good. You can even get all the contours as seen in this photo.
It can be done, cheaply, effectively and in short time!

hey mate, got any pics of the finished product?? , thinking of doing similiar
I dont know if your asking me or not, but I dont have a photo of my roof, I did it in my E34 535 roof which was manufactured with the same saggy sponge idea and then I sold it right away.
The main issues you will face with doing it this way is if you push your finger hard against the roof, you will stick it there, but super glue needs compression to make it work, so use waxy paper, or a pen or steel rod, something which wont stick too easily. Hold it there for 20 secs and it should be good.
And as most people know, more super glue is not better than less.
