    Td5 Remaps.

I have tried on my limited mobile internet to research td5 remaps.
I have even tried to PM and E mail Tombie to no avail.

    2000 D2 Td5 Manual.

    Who is happy with theirs?

    Why did you choose theirs?

    How much?

    Who is unhappy with theirs?

    Why?

    And I don't want a ****ing contest.

    Regards
    Will

Basically 2 choices, swap to a later model flashable ecu and buy a "remap" or purchase a chipped ecu from someone like TRS in Adelaide (also a crowd in sydney sell one). Chipped one is cheaper than replacement ecu and tune, replacement allows for re-mapping in the future if you change something on the car.

I have a TRS ecu and find it good but haven't driven anything else so can't compare.

    Cheers,
    Nova

I don't think Tombie does re-maps anymore, could be wrong, He can also be difficult to get a hold of due to his work schedule.
There's lots of options, I'll be going to Jose and the gang at Td5Inside when I take the plunge, going to an NNN ECU.
Do a bit of a search on here and you should find loooooooooots of threads about them

Tombie is no longer selling remaps afaik. He was an agent for Bell Auto Services (BAS).

    Why did you choose theirs?
The thing that swung me was Td5Inside's good feedback from other members, José's willingness to make changes to the tune to suit your requirements, and then tweak the tune based on your feedback. He also will adjust the tune if you make mods to the engine down the track - adding a VNT, or intercooler etc - and doesn't charge for this service.

    How much?
$340 for the Tune plus around $350 for a second hand NNN ECU. Last time I checked BD and TRS were charging around $600 for a chipped ECU, so cost difference is minimal, and the flexibility of the NNN route is far greater.

    Who is unhappy with theirs?
Happy with the Td5Inside Remap, but I previously had a Bruce Davis rechipped ECU which was already in the vehicle.

    Why?
The BD tune was too raucous for my tastes, it tend to kick in suddenly, and made the engine feel a bit harsh. The Td5Inside tune seems better integrated, with a smoother transition into the power band, and far more pleasant to drive overall. That is my opinion, based on my experience.

    cheers

    Hello,
I would recommend TD5Inside as his work is very good, goes to lot of trouble to get your car how you want it to drive.
I chose TD5Inside due the good feedback he that he has.
I have had a couple of different re-maps from other vendors and didn't get the same service.

    Hey all.
I've heard that Jose does a "towing" map. I am very interested in this. I currently have a BD remap which is good but I would like a map customized for towing a 2300kg van. Plus I'd like to upgrade to a VNT down the track. Am I expecting too much? Thoughts? I have a Nano Evo.

Robbo, I too have Jose's TD5Inside remap in my 04 and which is inclined towards towing, plus retaining economy, and I'm extremely happy with the service, and when I pull my finger out will get the map rechecked by him (free service) for my unfortunately required replacement engine.
