    D2's flexing

I know its being done with all landys but i think we need to get D2 one going I also want to see how all the other D2 are flexing up and what you doing to them to flex .I have had so much trouble trying to get mine to flex since i have gone up in lift and tyres,it flexed more on standard suspension and tyres then now !!!! so lets put up some D2's flexing i will start it off with some prity unimpressive flexing
on my very capable D2 i have custom Great Basin Rover 3"suspension touring setup which has heavy duty springs which does not help with the flex i have removed the sway bars once and did not like how i had no control of the roll movement it created
    cheers kelvin

My D2 flex's pretty amazingly well with the ACE (i think thats the reason why atleast) i havn't had this car long and was a bit hesitant about buying one coming from a D1 because i thought it would never be able to flex as well, also mine has the sls in the rear and i thought it would be absolutely **** house, but yeah it has sure shown me wrong.

The first pic you have seen before Kelvin but i thought i'd throw it up again for everyone to have a look.

And here's it on fraser just the other day.

Like to see a toyo do this....

I was going to replace the air bags with coils but after going to fraser and loading it up and seeing how bloody well they go when its packed up as opposed to my mates ass dragging D1 i don't think i will, and especially with a flex like this.

Also i've been wanting to put on bigger tyres but not sure how the flex will be affected with them... i was going to go 33 but im thinking the 32s might effect it less and still make the car as capable as running 33s... not sure though.

Hi Kelvin, you can get more flex out of the rear with longer shocks, but that also means longer brake and abs lines. Looking at the top of the rim compared to the bottom of the sill, it doesn't look like your Watt's linkage is fully binded up...that is not the case with mine anyway.

    Here's mine
For some reason I cannot get the front end to tuck up, the dobinsons are a bit stiff, but I am hoping the swaybar disconnects will help.

great pictures keep them coming and the info on your suspension set ups

i have always gone for the serious driveline setup as you can see in my signature and i have neglected the suspension setup ,which i think i need to address i do have heavy duty suspesion setup due to pulling camper and touring setup so i need to try make a happy medium

ACE, 4" springs, 10" travel shocks. Its pretty flexed up but all 4 are still on the ground. For the locals, this is at ZigZag, Lithgow at the top of the beer run which decends down to the town.

    Cheers

Ive done quite a few mods, but think that the bushes in the radius and trailing arms hinder the flex in the D2 quite a lot. You can drill holes in the bushes to get more flex, or buy new modded bushes.
Funny how threads come up just as you are going through process. Early next year I'm getting a 5 link set up, so its going to be all flex. All booked in so should be finished at the end if feb. I will show photos. Have a mate with 5 link in his nissan and it is insane.

I agree, and that'll be an excellent mod for the D2. Having checked it out before, I think that it would be a relatively straight forward mod for the D2 aswell. I assume you're keeping the watts link on the rear instead of a panhard.
    Cheers
