any one know a down in their luck family with young kids?

I have 2 boys bikes, hardly ridden, I think they are too good to throw on the hard rubbish. Has a scrub on side of seats

Would like to donate them free to some one with kids that are doing it tough.
    Pickup from Belgrave area Vic.

I would rather a nice kid get the use of them then a council scrap metal merchant. Hopefully some one knows some one to make a kid happy.

Good on you for not throwing them in the hard rubbish. I'm sure they would put a smile on any kids faces. I have seen so many bikes thrown on the had rubbish pile instead of going to a bit of effort and droping them at the Salvos where someone can get some use out of them. I even picked up a few good ones and droped them off myself. Hope they find a good home.

    Cheers, David.

You could try your local Freecycle - yahoo group, I think. You join up, put up your offer and people contact your they're interested. Generally pretty good about not taking stuff to resell, and if you want you can specify needy, etc.

Other thing is, no obligation, you can give to the hard luck story of your choice.

Hi Ray, I'm just up the road from you.
Thee Salvos etc etc, usually do want to give items to the needy, they want to sell the stuff to raise money.
Hence the post, so it goes direct to some one that could use it.

PS. Toorak, Caulfield and Brighton Millionares are excluded form this gift.

Up here in Brissie there's a charity called GIVIT. They put people with stuff in touch with people who take it and give it directly to those in need. We were able to donate a big, old style TV that I was sure we'd have to throw away, as well as a big pile of school supplies. So maybe have a look and see if they are down your way, or if there's a similar organisation. If not, you could always start one

Free bikes never last long, someone always wants them. Kids grow so quick these days they seem to get replaced to often.
