    130 Crew Cab Defender

Can anyone shed light on this model?
e.g. When did they stop making them?
are they available with a Td5 or did they only come with Tdi's?
    Thanks in advance

Hi Dac, they havent stop making them, they are still available, but you need to order one, dealers are only stocking 110 wagons, any other model needs to be ordered specially. Yes they come with TD5 diesel engines, no other engine is available, other than the TDi if you buy an older model. Hope that answers your question. Matt

The cab chassis is a better option anyway, gives you room to get a custom made tray. From what I understand they are in short supply as LR had some problems with chassis cracking and had to recall a lot before being sold.

The info I was given by the engineer at work is that Ford (LR) will not be selling any more cab/chassis due to the cracking problem.

    Cab chassis

That confirms my info. I was also told they were stopping manufacture of the cab chassis. Only option is to purchase second hand. Any one know much about this chassis cracking problem. Anyone got one who can do a review for us. I've been thinking about trading the Disco on one of these, but if they have dramas I'll keep my Disco 2 - it's very reliable.
    Thanks everyone

    Dac,
Just think very seriously before you do buy. I have a Defender Extreme and while it is a great 4wd it has its shortcomings in the comfort and build quality area's. See if you can get hold of one for a decent drive as most comfort issues dont really surface for a while. If I had it over agin I would have bought the Disco 2, but I have sunk too much money into the Fender now to change it for at least anothe 5 years.
