Discovery 4 rear number plate holder?

    Hi Guys
I am about to swap my number plates from my original vehicle to me new D4,
Would be looking at having my plates restyled to the slim line type.

I was wondering how you guys have mounted your plates? (front as well)

Is there any other way of mounting your rear plates without the need to drill two holes in the middle of the plate???

Was thinking it would be nice to keep the plates undamaged, particularly if i were to ever to sell my D4, avoiding the need to fork out $220 for having my plates remade. if you know what i mean?

    hope you have some ideas
    thanks in advance

This is what I think looks the best but does still involve drilling the plates.
    I don't like plate covers.

    REAR
Slim line. Held on with 2 screws.
There are grommet type washers to protect the paint and no damage so far (17 months).
The 2 screws are not in the middle of the plate, being nearer the top.

    FRONT

Full size Euro to match the plastic moulding in the bumper.
This has four screws and has remained secure through various creek crossings, including when the recovery point cover did not (disappeared during crossing on Cape York).

In Queensland, these two plate sizes can be purchased as a set.

    Cheers,
    Scott

Hey Scott, did you remove the black plastic frame on the rear of your D4? Mine has a black plastic frame on the rear door that the number plate screws to using the standard spacing number plate holes.

Yes I did Chris. Actually the dealer did it for me and gave me the plastic frame loose to keep on delivery day.
It looked silly with the slimline plate. IIRC the two screws in my plate are the ones that would hold the plastic frame.

Hi Ray, i did away with the flimsy plastic number plate holder and screwed large battern screws right through the plastic bar and into the steel reinforced bar....

    looks a lot better...

and on the rear i did away with the angled plastic bit as it was damaging the paintwork...

    what do you think?
