Frontrunner 45l Fuel Tank install (Part 1)

Well I purchased a 45l Fuel Tank, and Water Tank from Frontrunner, and had it shipped to Cairns. Was my Christmas Pressie to myself. I installed the fuel tank this morning, and thought that some photo's would be good, as the instructions are basic from Front Runner.

Before starting, but rear wheel removed. Note: Should pressure wash area before hand, as I didn't, and was constantly getting dried mud in my eyes! I did not empty the tank, but ran it down to when the the fuel light came on, and about 15k more. Figured where I drilled the hole, there should be less than 10l in the tank, so no fuel spillage. I was correct!

    With all the bits removed.

The vent pipe was stuck between the body, and chassis rail. Turned out to be held in place with a nylon strap. Was hard to see unless I was looking for it. Once broken, vent pipe was easily moved.

Mounting bracket in place. When it say's to secure tank in place, only loosely tighten the bolts. ( With them tightened, the tank sat too far forward. These need to be the last bolts to be tightened, as the bracket will bend in place to secure tank). If you look closely, you can see the wire going into the top of the tank, and coming out from the hole where there is some weeping on the tank.

Fed wire (bailing wire) through top filler, and easily found the hole I had to drill in the main fuel tank (what I thought was going to be tricky, turned out to be quite easy).

    End of part 1.
