    300 TDI in 89 rangie with 4:11's on 35'S

Yes its a new thread! Has any one put a 300 tdi with 5 spd out of a 97ish Disco in a 89ish Rangie with 4:11 cwps and 35" Tyres? Is it driveable or hopeless. I've never tried ths combo. On paper looks bad! My 3.5 is still strong but fuel pricesLooked at a 4.6 on gas but $$$) As we all know a 3.5 on gas is hopeless on duel fuel. What are my options when I am paying for it all.
    Cheers RR.

I have a 300Tdi and ZF Auto in my 87 Rangie - all came from a 98 Disco I wrecked and run either 33" or 35" tyres.

I would say that mine is over geared and want to change to 4.11s soon - when I can get them at the right price and I have the money.

Once on 4.11s it should be back to somewhere like standard gearing.

MickRangie has just done it as well, but he converted it into a ute. Used the Motor and panels from a Disco and put them on the chasis/running gear of a 91 Rangie. But he has a ZF with it.

His ute thread should be on here somewhere

Actually its the rangie shell with disco doors/ panels/ dash on the disco chassis/ running gear - engineer wont pass the engine mounts onto the rangie chassis i believe.

interesting - my engineer had no issues with my engine mounts, I used some form a D110 300 Tdi chassis I had in pieces.

I think it was more like he already had the chop engineered and didnt want to have to engineer the mounts as well, Mick will probably expand on this if he reads it but thats the gist of what he told me last week.
