Rare and Vintage Series 1 Trialling Footage

These films are just shy of 50 years old!

This film is the work of my father. He was one of the original members of the Land Rover Club when the club was the only club in the world and made up of a just handfull of guys out of Solihull England, he was in the original line up who setup what we all know as RTV trialing today.

This film was the "Ancaster Land Rover Trial of 1963" he's driving '1728 AC'.

Back in the day when cine cameras had no sound, and the rule was you went off roading in a shirt and tie and a waistcoat.

I'll be uploading more films to youtube as I get them transcribed, these cine films haven't seen the light of day outside of my dads attic in over 20 years!

If you are a driver in this films or you see your car: please PM me.
you can subscribe to my youtube if you want to see more of these Vintage Series films as I release them.

    Cheers
    LandyLubber

1964 Chesterfiled Trial, in Colour this time!

1964 Chesterfiled Trial, in Colour this time!
One of the sections you had a bean can full of water, the idea was not stop or to spill any. The volume got measured at the end of the section.

I have moved this to general chat only because there are a lot of members that would really appreciate this video that will not likely visit the camera corner

Thanks for sharing Landy Lubber The 4wd club I belonged to when I lived in the uk, used to put on the same sort of trial 2-3 times a month. Only difference being you'd have to stop at a really awkward part of the course, grab a punch that was attached by string to a tree or similar obstacle and punch your entry card.Normally 10 or more punches scattered around the course. More punch holes on your card = more points, of course there was never any cheating Great fun had by all.

As a boy I collected pics of the old trial cars, cannons, dellows, austin sevens etc. I still have the scrapbook and over the years managed to get a few famous formula one drivers to sign it Also used to go to a few events and spectate. How times have changed

    That's great Thank you.

It's taken me months to persuade him to get these films transcribed. I felt there are so many members in the Land Rover underworld that would appreciate this rare, vintage and historic footage...

I have more films. I will upload and post them as and when I get time to digitize them.

I've also got some old trials footage from the same era, not Land rover. I'll upload that as well.

    Here's another one: Chesterfield 1964

One of the sections gave you a bean can full of water, they measured the volume at the end, the more you spill, the less points you get!

At least they are well dressed!

Did you notice how many drivers were wearing a tie?
