well done, and yes the oil lamp did come on.
big ends etc look fine apparently, so a new oil pump is going in and disaster averted

Lucky!
Thankfully, the only warning light on mine I've had come on was the fuel/water light, and that was a dodgy sensor![]()
Thanks for posting pics JC. The oil light came on when I was doing about 90kmh, pull straight over and shut down. I was on an angle so when I dipped the oil it look low so the better half brought some out and that did nothing. On a flatbed and pulled down the next moring. I had been told the bolt had been loctited at 200k km and so it had. The sprocket had spun on the shaft and I think what saved it was quality oil and a little friction drive of the pump, The pump was $1000 but the only way we could buy it was it come with the complte alloy housing that unbolts. My car was going aagin by 10 am Tuesday and seems to be fine with good oil pressure. No tats tickets for me now I have used all my luck. The engine has done 345k km

Wonder if the cause of the fracture could have been overzealous tightening of the bolt when it was loctited in.
As Im sure would be the case with many, ....... just a little tighter to make sure the blighter wont come out
