    Bosch VE pump seals.

The injector pump on my 300TDI is leaking from what appears to be the Governor assembly cover gasket/Oring.Does this require the removal of the pump or can it be done in situ?Looks like a fiddly bit engaging the governor lever..is it possible?

IIRC it can be done in place. Make sure you source the correct gaskets, Toyota ones are the correct shape, but incorrect section.

Bosch part number 1 461 015 302,I did mine a few months back and it cost $15.Make sure you push the throttle shaft down through the cover as you lift it off or you'll snap the governer off which will cost you another $125. Pat

Many thanks exactly what I wanted to hear!Think I will also replace the throttle shaft seal/bush,as these apparently can also leak....guess its a good idea to mark/photo everything as it comes apart?

Trust me it isn't hard.Clearly mark the spline where the throttle cable arm joins the throttle shaft and all the settings will remain the same. Pat
