Front recovery point for the Rangie

Finally got around to getting a proper recovery point made up for the Rangie. I had it custom made / fitted by a local towbar fabrication workshop. It is very solid and I am stoked with the result.

The existing "tow point" is very much a down hill bitumen only device, so it was removed and replaced with what is essentially a tow bar tongue with custom brackets welded to fit the existing chasis holes and some new bolts into the chasis.

He has even utilised the welded tie down loops.

From the front - doesn't protrude too far and still allows the front spoiler to go on without any modification.

Thanks for that. It's always good to see ideas for recovery points.

Do the vertical bolts got right through to the top of the chassis? If so, did he fit anti-crush tubes into the holes?

No, the vertical bolts only go through the bottom section of the chasis.

He has made up narrow steel plates to go inside the chasis rail under the nuts.
