    Is it just me?

Is it just me or has anyone else noticed the 101 front pintle off centre?
Is there a reason for it to be so?

Yes it is off centre. Was told the reason why but cannot remember why.

im guessing its the same reason caravanners have a tow hook mounted off centre on the front of thier tow vehicle, with the trailer (or gun in a 101's case) hooked up to the front, you can push the trailer into the desired position and be able to look down the side of it

On a 101 the pintle is only about 2" from the centre and on the drivers side not the passenger side like most front mount tow/push points.

You sure can - last year we had four 101s lined up and Ron started them all first go with his crank. Easy Peasy.

I was there and was gobsmacked that he was able to do it.

Previously I thought the crank was there only for show (remember the crank handle was removed from the Phase II RRc and never appeared on the Discovery or Defender models)!

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.
