you can get a apair of them on ebay for under $600 delivered i believe...
Just been sniffing around various 101 sites trying to soak up as much info as I can.
I noticed on the 101Club forum discussion on aluminium Rocky Mountain Door tops.
They look nice and, similar to their S3 version, they have two-way sliding glass.
Fired off an email to RM UK (as you do) and their response was:
Thank you for your enquiry, we can send the 101 door tops to Melbourne via DHL on a 3 – 4 day service the cost is £88.00. making the total cost £338.00 excl. Vat (250 + 88).
We regularly ship the Series door tops to Australia, (NZ, Singapore etc.) and the 101,s are in the same packaging but I have to warn you although there never has been a problem, none of the couriers will cover glass breakage – these are very well packed in a moulded polystyrene case then in a cardboard box then banded securely but we cannot insure against breakage but I do repeat we have never had a breakage....
I thought that was a reasonable price. AU$448 on today exchange rate. I dont need them, but I like researching the market. Just thought I'd share it around.
Oh, and that was for the pair.

I have a pair for my SIIb very well made and good value.
You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.
Do these have steel securing bolts? If so, look after your bolts or they'll rust, I have a perfectly good pair of Al frames for my 2a, but the mounting hardware is corroded, useless and unfixable!
The securing bolts screw into the frame with the bolt head at the lower end of the tube, instead of a fixed stud protruding from the frame of the door top. However your comment is most appropriate and liberal application of never sieze to the thread and shaft (or even regular maring grease to the shaft) is well recommended.
Having just had to drill out one bolt on each of my SIIB Gog's doors, I will most definately taking a lot of precautions against rusted bolts.
Re your useless doors, what about having Aluminim Engineering see if he can repair them, he'll likely be at the LROC meeting on Tuesday.

I'll bring them to the meeting![]()
Diana, with the front glass sliding back, do you think that would help ventilate my 101? I am learning all about exhaust being sucked back in when you open the standard window......cough cough cough.
I will need a fume curtain but thought getting more air in may help.![]()
