The button on the floor looks like the headlight dipper switch. The cold start "hole" should have a choke cable from the carby. Still working on the first one

Yep, that's what it looks like.
Any of us that grew up on Australian or US very early seventies and earlier cars are familiar with those.

As above - no idea what the first one is, "Cold Start" is the choke control minus the knob and inner cable, and the thing on the floor is the dip switch, in general use, as Rick indicated from about 1940 - 1975 standard fitting in Australia and US at least, but also in many English cars, including Landrovers about 1950-1971.

i'm guessing that #1 is a pull control for something further back on the vehicle, take a look a lil further to the right in the pic and there is what appears to be part of a chain that looks like it may have been connected tot he clevis shown in the left 2 arrows......

Where did this vehicle come from? The reason I ask is that if it came from a cold climate the first thingo could possibly be part of a device to control a radiator blind.
The "cold start" is sometimes referred to as a choke and operates an airflow restricting butterfly device in the throat of the carburettor to assist in cold starting.
This button was often pulled out in older style cars by an unknowing lady driver and used as a handy place to hang her handbag, so I have been told.

Looks like the old petrol V8 filter.

    Had a heart transplant?

Could also be the sedimenter from the diesel setup?

Now I know this is a Thermostat, but where on earth does it live?

I have two Water Temp Gauges, one in the cab one in the rear, this one comes from the rear, how would it have been installed, was there 2 thermostat housings on the 6 Cly engine? and as i have a Diesel maybe theres only one?

Here's the Diesel setup (just in case you don't have it)

Thermo sensor goes in at the back of the water pump, drivers side, near the thermostat housing. From memory, the actual entry point is a bit more concealed down the side, and tucked in.
