    Paint it black ...rather not!

Been at it over the last three days stripping the paint off the Ambo, got it nicely flattened for a prime, thinking of taking the body off so I can strip the chassis, repaint it and waxoyl the hell out of it.
The good news is that as it will be classed as a mobile home it won't have any duty on it when it gets registered ...result go w.a. Finally some sense. The esbacher (or whatever) heater is coming out to make way for a triple battery set up.
Although in photo 1 the wee beasties paint looks good it is typical British army brushed on badness.
It only has a couple of coats which leads me to believe (plus the 23000 km's) that it was a reserve vehicle territorial army maybe, in saying that it would be an expensive bit of kit to give to weekend warriors.
My house mate also has a 101 Ambo (go figure) that did 40k km's before being cast and was serving with 4 field ambulance prior to its retirement, it worked for a living you can tell by the body work.

Fair comment but the stretchers weigh 200 kilo plus the mechanism I reckon I will shed 1/2 once I am done, if I keep it a v8 it will never realise any kind of economy as it's a house brick, but in the same breathe this will help some.
