Brute's 101

If they google it and most likely they did they would have come up with a one tonne payload .
It was only ex Australian army 101s which have a one and a half tonne pay load.
The plate on the fan tunnel is the same ,but is stamped with a GVM 3600kg ??????
I will have to look at mine to see what the rating exactly is.
I missed out on a LPGas subsidy when fitting the LPG because the GVM was over 3500kg.

Chassis no 96200051A
Max vehicle laden WT. 3652 kg
Max front axle. 1846 kg
Max rear axle 1910. Kg
Recommended Max towing cap 2 tons.
My 101 the last time I took it over scales it was 2400 kg unloaded, but had its usual tools winching gear etc on board.
My 101 is a bit fat.

Hi Ian.
I have the Vic Roads "Vehicle Assessment Signatory Scheme Approval Certificate" for my 101. It has a table that shows:
Tare Mass: 2,560 kg (modified)
GVM / GTM: 3,143 kg (Unmodified)
GCM / ATM: 5,643 kg (Unmodified)
Front axle group rating: 1,665 kg (Unmodified)
Rear axle group rating: 1,592 kg (Unmodified)

The "modified" status for the Tare Mass is due to the Eastern Wheelworks wheels fitted with 315/75 R16 tyres. The Tare Mass was taken directly from a weighbridge result sheet also in my files on the 101.

You're welcome to borrow the certificate if it helps. I guess it's pretty specific to my vehicle but is from a credited engineer.

As Ron as mentioned all the Aussie 101s were 1.5 tonners but as far as I am aware when the 101 GS was introduced into the Brit Military they were 1 tonners hence the manuals show them as having a 1 tonne load capacity.

BUT much later I believe the Brits upgraded their 101 GS to carry 1.5 tonnes. By upgraded they just changed the plates - after all the later Brit 101s and our 101s are the same spec.

This aspect might be worthwhile looking at and docs obtained from the UK.

Hi John,
The 3143kg is written in the user manual, so I should be able to get them to lift it to at least that.
I cannot find any thing anywhere that mentions the 3643kg that is on Stu's and Simons plates, and even the plates still call it a one tonner so it's all very confusing.
The good news is I've fitted new spark plugs and dizzy cap and it's running realy well, the front side light was a bad connection. But I think I'm going to re wire the back lights as I have some odd voltage readings.
Hopefully I can get it back to the pits this week.
By the way John they never even looked at the rubber flares so I don't need to extend them any more

Did you have to get an ADR report too??

Can you show evidence of the re-rate plates on other 101's as proof of the higher limits?

Just told them mine was the drum brake model:)
Didn't ask for an add report what do you have to do for that?
I will take photos of the plates and some stuff of the net when I go back and see what they say.
