Pete, why not get a 12v dizzy out of an early 3.5 Range Rover, a V8 Rover Car or even a 12v 101 - they shouldn't be too hard to find even if from the UK.

I may have what you need...

Is this the type you are looking for? This is in a large box of spares that I bought over from the UK when we migrated.... Having sold the Off Roader that it was a spare for, and as the 101 is going diesel, it still remains a spare spare for the V8 that I might get round to rebuilding one day when I have nothing to do and or if the diesel won't fit!!!

That dizzy looks like a solution to me.
A few different companies make a electronic conversion.
    Pertronix make a good system.
    Pertronix Performance Products
The pertronix system has no exturnal electronic box, everything sits inside the dizzy.
You can get fancy dual curve electronic systems etc at greater cost........great option if running dual fuel????????????????

Cannot see the drive for the oil pump inside the gear in the photo but it looks like the one.
Certainly would be easier converting an old dizzy that changing the whole timing cover.

Here's a pic of the drive. Its the reverse of what I've seen recently. Looks like you need a 'jaw type' drive on your pump...

And this is the type that's in my 101, and Bojans (Offender90) 90.. This is his dizzy out of his 90 but is not for sale.. (And neither is Chappy, the black boof in the background!) Hope this is not the type you're looking for as I have one but its in my original 101 V8 and I want to keep it for when I get round to the rebuild....

Decided to change the timing cover as a mate was wrecking his classic. Got the timing cover, dizzy with a Lumenition electronic module and a Malloy Voltmaster MII coil for favours. Went to the local LR parts place to get the gaskets, they did not have all of them but ending up finding a complete new/old stock bottom end gasket kit for $20, bonus
The 101 oil pump base is a straight swap, just have to bung up the extra water pipe inlet on the back of the water pump housing.

The picture shows the 4.3mm difference in the oil pump gears, be interesting to see if oil pressure comes up any quicker.
