    101modifications

I am about to embark on another revamp/modification project for my truck. After i changed to diesel and made some changes before bringing it to Australia I have spent a fair bit of time camping in it with the wife and our baby. These trips have learnt us that some more tweaks need to be done. I am going to add more solar, more batteries, a roof rack, new paint job, new door tops, soundproofing, rewire, canopy stereo and radio fitted, changed the windscreen glass, fit speakers on outside and a light, and some outside storage.
I will put some pics up on here as I go. If I can figure out how to load more than one pic at a time

Yay, another 101 in WA. I have personally seen and met the owners of two others and know of another three - four now with yours. That's seven straight off the bat. I wonder how many more are hiding out?
As a keen KTM rider and owner, I like the orange of yours. (I know you're thinking of changing it and that's okay too).
I have a solar panel (80W I think) mounted to a flat roof rack on my 101, although it's an odd arrangement as mines a GS so the roof rack is bolted through the canvas top!
I use Photobucket to host my pictures and can post as many as I like direct to threads. I'm not sure what the options are, but there's bound to be other hosting sites that'll enable the same.

Are you happy with the hinged doortops?
I have thought of doing that.

That's a great looking truck, and I'm sure I've met it at one of the many Land Rover shows in the UK.. How long has it been here? What Diesel engine are you running? I'm a fan of mods if done right! How well do the hinging tops work? Here's mine when we were playing at Melrose this yr.

I've only been here two years, got a 300tdi in her. The hinged door tops work great but are old so I'm replacing tops with new and tweaking a bit.
You won't have see me in UK. We lived up in Scotland and tried my hardest not to frequent the south so have never been to a show unfortunately.
I have full respect for the purist' trucks and its admirable how perfect people make them however modifying things is where the fun is for me.

cooee fails to mention his 101 also emigrated from Scotland.

Here's a picture from before it went in the container.

And one from when it was being used as a Rally Recovery Unit.
