The pic on the cover shows a WW11 Scammel 6x4 in GS body style, in the 1950's Shell had 2 as semi trailer tankers doing the Brisbane to Warrangar run, the driver was a family friend,I went with him on one trip during school holidays,I was about 12,the truck had a 6 speed gear box then reduction box,they were "gate" gears meaning you had to go,1-2-3 etc then the same changing down,the 3rd truck the City Council had in original tow truck form which was used to tow broken down trams,that still exists at the Brisbane tramway museum.
