    Anyone using Slic3r?

I have been trying to get Slic3r running. It seems to offer good ways to set up profiles for my IDEX Flashforge.
I can't get it to even open before it crashes. macOS 14.4 Sonoma. I'm wondering if the version I keep getting is 32 bit. Hard to find out. Tried a couple of different sources.

For what it's worth Bill, I did try your idea of swinging the coffee Billy around & around using the cord from my Pyjamas. It did not work out well & we now have a Cafe aulait Kitchen. Bloody pyjama cords are not made like they used to be.

Maybe you meant it was for Tea only?

I'll give them a go. It's getting a profile that works with the IDEX printer that's the thing. I got Slic3r running on an older Mac, but the ini stuff I managed to find was hopeless. I've given up on that for now. downloading the others now. I did have it working with Cura, but I don't think it's better enough to be worth the hassle. The slicer that Flashforge does it not great, which is a shame as the machine itself is good apart from the small build volume. But it doesn't work natively with any other slicer. Oh well.

Yes, as I found out. It's also $200US, unless there's a free version I haven't seen. No ready to pull that trigger yet.

Has to be better than FlashPrint. What I want most of all is to be able to have soluble support material running from one extruder while the other prints the model. FlashPrint can obviously do that, but it isn't obvious how, as the settings are burrowed away and counterintuitive. I can manage, but FlashPrint lets down the quite good machine so it's no fun using it, and it is too expensive to be an ornament.
Still trying to set up PrussaSlicer. I didn't know it was ported from Slic3r. Looks far more user friendly.
