Tim a quick tip to get over 90 out of it, use the hand throttle. Many a trip done at near 100 kmh with a foot on the hand throttle!

						SupporterThanks rick, yep did that, but the tacho doing 2650rpm got the better of me..perhaps I should have put something over it so I couldn't see it!!
Have you got a fair bit of experience with these trucks?
dont use the hand throttle.
and break the kneecaps of anyone who tires to hold it pinned and hits the exhaust brake.
never rush the 4-5 -5-4 shift, take the regimental 2-3 pause in neutral wit the clutch buried after you slip it across the gate and the planetary shifter knocks home.
DO NOT forget to grease the clutch-box UJ's
inspect the gearbox bolts, output housing bolts and torque tube bolts weekly
if your gearbox bolts dont have flange faces on them replace them with the correct flanged type.
learn how to do the brake adjusments andinspect them every three months
its got an exhaust brake, change down early and use it.

						SupporterJust dropped some pipes off at a crossing we need to rebuild,.. With 5t on the back going down, This photo is at the top of a hillclimb that my 130 needs a lot if right boot to get up and is best tackled in a Dozer.. The mog went down and back up with absolute control..what a vehicle..
yeah, and if you think its good offroad with the rubberthats on it wait till you get to take a 1700 for a roll when its been backfitted with the tyres off of a 1750.
IF you happen to break the belt drive for the fan, replace it with a pair of thermos, its cheaper.
the atlernator can be re-jigged for higher output and you can weld with it if you need to be able to.
If you have a an oil leak in the drive line when you select 4wd the pressure regulator for the fording puenmatics is shot.
Did you know the reversing gear is fully syncronised? 1200RPM in secting and good timing on the clutch and the reversing lever with the tyres down around 40PSI will walk the mog out of most holes.
while they only do around 80 in forwards they do 85 in reverse.
its got a split air system, watch the pressure gauges, assuming the system is in good order, on startup one needle should climb and then drop as the second needle begins to climb. In an emereancy as soon as the needles meet for the first time you can release the park brake and drive.
However.
The planetary selector wont always work properly unless you have enough air pressure, if for no other reason always make the effort to stop your mog in second gear. Having the plantary stuck in low makes for slow progress however having it stuck in high can result in not being able to get the thing moving in the first place.
have you checked the spare wheel winch yet? have you tried to change the tyre?
have you tired the air outlets for the tyre inflators? have you checked them for their dustcaps and if you have do you have the plastic ones or the metal ones with the oring? if you have why do you still have the plastic ones?
