What about a Mitsi Canter dual cab 4x4, can be had for around 20-25K and can be downgraded to drive on a car license.
A bloke on myswag has one with a basic custom body on it.

This is the oracle of Canter information.
Japanese Heavy Truck: Mitsubishi and Isuzu - Expedition Portal

I have a 96 canter 4x4 dual cab fg639, happily goes as far as my nerves will let it, in the process of creating a camper for the back, but its been an awesome tray truck on the farm and goes anywhere. Runs 35" tyres on 16x8 super single rims, this is a must do to any jap truck and transforms the vehicle.

That said, I do like your mog v oka, it's just that the Japanese stuff is super reliable and easy for parts.

    Yes you are teasing....

The IVECO is a nice rig. It also makes good sense...
so is the Merc, so is the MAN so is the....stop it.

So the thoughts on trucks is deepening. but for the next 12 months anyway, the plan is:
Get the 130 on the road with camper back on and long service available from March 17.
Go as far as the big lap as we can get in that time. Being in the centre of Oz makes planning somewhat easier(or does it), as many places are close/just down the road and can be done in shorter holiday breaks or a weekend.

A major review of life the universe and everything and see if we can realise any of the thoughts dreams etc. from there

Not wishing to hijack, but found a pic of it, but it's all loaded up, has a onsite caravan annexe back on way to another van. I love the old girl, there's not much it can't do.
