    melvin and moon covers

Anyone had to wash theirs yet?

I have to wash mine as the backs were getting a little grubby, However the front passenger cover is now extremely dirty thanks to some grubby git not taking due care and attention.....

I'm hoping I can get out the grubby bits as they are very noticeable on the sand coloured covers

did you do it buy hand? what did you wash it with? did you use a brush or anything to get out stains?

I honestly thought Melvin and moon covers was some kind of psychedelic band from the mid 60's. I must be tight, I wouldn't pay that much even for whale penis seat covers.

It's canvas just wash them like you would a pair of Jeans or a canvas tent. Nappysan works a treat getting ground in mud and poo out of canvas horse rugs. These wouldn't be much different material.

Worst case scenario, pay to get them dry cleaned. If dry cleaning can remove gun powder residue and blood from shirts, a bit of grease should be easy.

Washed ours 3 times so far. They take forever to dry. Just follow the instructions on the bag they came in. I e-mailed M&M and they confirmed this is the preferred method.

I thought they were Moon wheel covers. I have a set of new 13" if you need 'em.

dobbo you cant dry clean them

and yes they are very expensive covers hence why I'm not going to treat them like a pair of jeans and wash them with nappysan.

If you don't own any matt you would have no idea how tightly these covers fit! any form of shrinkage or them going out of shape would stuff them completely

The instructions refer to Omo Cold if I remember correctly. We can't get that but just used cold water and weak strength Omo.

Soak, hand wash, drip dry in the shade. They didn't shrink, but did take two days to dry.

Don't see why not, the main thing is to treat them gently and without to much harsh detergent. They are Scotch Guarded and waterproof treated so you don't want this washed out. Also don't wring them out
