    Deefer Attention

Pulled up at the lights in Melb CBD yesterday , cnr Collins and King st.

A maxicab pulls up beside me.

The fella leans over and says ( in thick Indian accent) " Love your Defender mate. I used to drive one for a Safari Company in Africa. I loved it "

    How good is that

I am guessing if you were at Bunnings in Preston (Northland) that would have been a fair enough question from the owner!

I pulled up at a pedestrian crossing a few years ago in the SIII and a little boy crossing the road with his grandma pointed up and told her that's what he was going to get when he grew up.

In the SIII I even got a wave from a troopy.

I've all sorts of people come up and say how much they like the county, but the best I've seen was a young kid (maybe 4-5) walking with his mum past my house in cronulla as I was fixing a few things, he looked up at the car and tugged his mum's arm and said "mum look, he's fixing the fire truck"... Classic.

10 year old kids seem to love the 130 i drive home from work and i get kids in the back of their mums car giving me the thumbs up it's a little disconcerting, it's like they know something through their innocence they haven't been brainwashed into having to like one of the two!

Biggest buzz i got was some middle aged (probably middle class) guy drove up the side of me at the lights in beaufort street in a rangie sport, takes a look at the 130 and smiles and says that is a real mans car ....i was like big smile on my dial bloody oath it is
