    National Luna Dual Battery Systems

Has anyone had any experience with National Luna Dual Batteries Systems? What's been your experience? Are there any other off the shelf units that you'd consider better?
    Cheers

I've had one fitted to my 110 for nearly 2 years, so far it's been faultless. I got the one with the Dual indicator and winch over-ride.

    Cheers,

Hey Tim, Whats the winch over ride? Is this a standard feature on the National Luna setup? or something you requested / setup yourself? I'm just beginning to look into them now so on learning curve right now...

Hi pbros, the winch over-ride just forces the solenoid to close linking both battries. The battery controller is designed to open when the battery voltage falls to a certain level, (ie when you switch the car off). When winching the voltage could drop causing the controller to seperate the battries, which you may not want to happen.

With the dual battery controller you can get several different types of "indicator" units, some of them just show the voltage levels of the battries, the one I have has the over-ride function also.

    Hope this helps!

Have you had a look at the Traxide system that drivesafe on here sells. A lot of us have these installed.

I understand the same model is marketed OEM by Opposite Lock. Had the same on my old TD5 - excellent - esp. the override/solenoid connection feature discussed. Will be getting same again on my Puma...

Opposite Lock "markets/advertises" the National Luna unit as "Chargemaster". It similarly "markets/advertises" WindCheetah roofracks as "Rackmaster". Both are imported from South Africa by Dolium. I suspect all this relates to company history. I understand Adrian from Dolium was involved in the early days of Opposite Lock.
