please check your local state or terriotory laws, they maybe commercial vehicles in the eyes of manufactorers, but when it come to law, each state is different and each state requires children to properly restrained to the relavent standards regardless of the vehicle they are traveling in.
as i mentioned before, in the uk and europe the method of retraining children is different to here, even if you bought a car from a different country you have to comply with the relavent standards for the state your vehicle is regeisted in.
i'll have to wait 3 months before my little bloke turns 4 then he can use a lap/sash in his booster seat.
i just googeled child resraints and it brings up all the info .
let me know how you all get on as this will be an issue with all crew cab owners with children under 7
