Are the seats in the Puma 130 different to other 130s? It might be a whole different setup.
Need some pics.
There are pics in the forum mentioned , from memory of a earlier 130 with a H frame bar behind the seats to hold three child restraint bolts. I have a 2002 td5110 wagon and this thread was a great help to get my bar with 3 bolts fitted. It cost about $395 decmber last year from memory. This was fully rta approved.
P.s thanks admin for grouping all the restraint threads together
hey pc3
I just picked up brand new 110 crew cab yesterday and went straight to TL engineering here in Perth to try and get restraints fitted !!!
biggest problems are the aluminium body and the height of the rear seats, as they come from the wagon and not just made for the crewcab, you cant secure over the back of the seat toward the floor.
your 130 cab is pretty much like a 110cab so you may have the same dramas i'm haveing, but the bloke at TL was going to make some calls over east yesterday and find out what he could, when i here back from him i'll let you know
cheers

When I was looking at buying one form Geelong LR they quoted $250 per restraint.....I am not sure who they intended to use but I think I will wait and here what your contact has to say before I take action. I think it will be possible just some mucking around.............really should be standard in a car of this price !! The previous posters may be referring to methods withour the high rear seats of the PUMA's
well, where do i start !, you cant put restraints into crew cabs.
the guy at TL eng made some calls over east to the people that make the anchors, the problems being that a retraint cannot be anymore than 100mm below the top of the seat, and due to the design of the rear of the cab there is no way to mount any bar work behind the seats at the correct hieght, rear and curved windows seem to appear in the wrong place .
the seats seem to be the biggest issue, from memory the older 130's had lower seats, but the seats in the puma's are direct from the wagon.
and of course you cant bolt anything to aluminium.
this was not the news i wanted to hear, and i'm sure you didn't want it either, my missus is not a happy camper at the moment, but are little bloke is over 18kg which means he has to be in a booster seat but he can wear the normal seat belt.
i suggest you go to LR in Geelong and see what they have to say, maybe they have some different ideas, let me know if you have any luck.
disapointed

p.s, the restraints used in UK and Europe are diffrent to here so if in the UK you wouldn't have a problem.

This is a Major pia this was my whole reason for buying a dual cab. There has to be a way!!
So when your child reaches 18 kg they then have to go into a booster seat and use regular seat belt us this correct ?
dont quote me on the weight thing for the moment, as my wife was going to look it up on one of the government web sites just to double check.
i have the same pia at the moment, in the UK the seat restraints are down by the seatbelt clips, so they dont have to worry about going over the seat with straps, and for the few defender crew cabs they sell outside of the UK and Europe that are needed by families isn't worth the engineering cost.
get back to you soon, or you maybe able to search govt websites your self, i know child restraint laws have changed recently.
cheers

You say it's a double cab right?
I was concerned about this when my 110dc came over from the uk. BUT I was told that the double cabs are classed as commercials and don't need anything (seat anchors) to be retro fitted. Problem solved for me.
Also if the car was bought in Australia, don't LR have a responsibility to make sure it complies with all Aus laws?
Or am I missing something?
Regards,
Jon
