I have to point it out to anyone that tries to get in Ron, for some reason it's camouflaged and no one sees it

Maybe some owners don't know it's there either ?

Why do you drive a Defender?

I tell people I drive the Defender because I care for the Earth and the Environment.

Then I begin on the list :

    (1) My car has a service life five times longer than yours.
    (2) My car is aluminium and is infinitely recyclable.
    (3) My car carries more tonnage / passengers to the litre than yours.
    (4) My car doesn't need roads, and can be at one with nature. Your car requires vast tracts of land to bulldozed to make roads. Which wreck animal habitats and disturbs water tables.
    (5) My car takes me to places you can never get to.

    (6)... (7)... (8)...

By point 4 or 5 they get it and shrink back.

Those that are motoring enthusiasts are also reminded that the Defender is in Top Gear's "Sub Zero" category for cool cars.

I often have to point out that my Defender has a smaller footprint than a Commodore and at most two thirds the fuel consumption.

Similarly mine was described as "gnarley" by a North American serving behind the bar at a pub near Lake St Clair in Tassie. Made the beer taste better as well.

I find it a personally insulting question like "Why did you marry HER?

.....and the answer is the same "It was love at first sight!"
