Same mates that reckon you're better off with a Hilux? I'd stick with the wheels/tyres that it comes with - I only bought a set of black Dynamics and MTZ's because 110's come with hairdresser's alloy wheels.

Yeh it was the same mates saying I was moron for buying a defender over a Hilux

As you have discovered by doing some research here, the stock rims and tyres that come on the 130 are very good. I would at least get some experience with these as they come first - they will most likely be all you will ever need. You can get different rims (such as Wolfs) etc down the track if you still feel the need.

As for fatter tyres - there won't be any functional advantages over the standard rubber. In fact, it could be argued that larger (and heavier) tyres can only be detrimental to wear and tear on your vehicle.

The stock rims are steel - that is what I wanted on mine - and are matched to great offroad and onroad tyres that will give good mileage and economy.

I reckon you should wait for your truck to arrive, use it as is, then look to alter stuff further down the track.

Took me a while to get xzl's- best tyre I 've had for what I need- only advantage I can see for wider would be for alot of beach or desert driving-
I'd be interested if your getting rid of yours-I do have a set of white 15" sunny's lying around with new 31x10" wrangler a/t's.
Stick with the xzl's (or send them my way),they are a bit noisy (& expensive) but look at them-they are made for Defenders-no other tyre is

Scallops, thats exactly what I am thinking............are the rims I have as standard on my truck these WOLF rims or not..................if its not what does a wolf rim look like ?

My understanding is that;

They both look similar with the holes around the outside and are made from thicker steel.

I was told that Tubed rims are 130 Rims and the

Tubeless rims are a true Wolf Rim

As I mentioned in post 1 - the standard 130 rims are not Wolf rims, so you won't be getting them - and, as the other chap has said above, the Wolfs are higher rated (stronger) and are designed for tubeless tyres.

Defender 130" 16 x 6,5" (Wolf) rims
Recommended when bigger tyres are mounted, no need for spacers...
