    with nulon synthetic I was getting usable results out to 15K Km

    Maybe I'm a bit ham-fisted but I find any kind of filter strap a pain in the arse. Much easier is to make sure the filter is totally dry and do it by hand.

    If it's too tight, put a pair of rubber gloves - either the surgical type of some cheap rubber-palmed gardening/work gloves. You get far better grip this way.

    If you don't have gloves, then even a thick elastic band will help.

    TD5 oil change every 10,000 ks as well the main engine oil filter but only have to change Centrifugal filter every 2nd oil change 20,000 ks as for removing the engine filter I only put them on hand tight and next oil change they nomaly come undone with a bit of hard grip by hands and should never have to remove any pipes to change filters...
