Great looking Puma Carlos! I spent 4 months in south america a few years ago and have always wanted to go back, taking the car with you would be so much better than hiring/public transport.

    This has got me thinking...

Hi Cheyne, pity it hadn't got you thinking a little sooner, I was looking initially for someone to share a 40' container as the cost is much cheaper and didn't get any takers then as things turned out the shipping company I'm using couldn't find a 20'er in time so not only did I end up with a 40'er but a high one as well for the same cost, this means I don't have to lift off the tent & storage locker and then back on at the other end. In a few days the Defender gets stuffed into the container at Fremantle with an empty space that could have accommodated another vehicle, such is life.

The chances of me doing a blog are Buckley's, I'm flat out keeping my diary, though if anyone is interested I'll be sending an occaisonal email to friends etc so I can copy them in.

Thanks Aleman Gruner, thats a very thoughtful offer, I'm always amazed at the camaradarie amongst Land Rover owners, we intend to travel around South America for at least a year so it would be good to catch up along the track. We arrive in Santiago on the 26th of October.

Hi Carlos. I live in Colombia, don't know if my advise applies: come to Cartagena using Hamburg Sud service, my city is their operation center for America, so they always need cntr in here, maybe they can give you a good rate. Anything you need here in Colombia I'll be pleasant to help. This advise has work for a bunch of Landies coming from different european countries. Regards.
