    Who's best at warranty repairs; Rex gorrell Geelong or Melbourne lr near docklands?

    These are the closest to were I live. Geelong Is more convenient in respect that family us near by. Docklands easy in that I can jump on a train easily at Spencer street. Wondering if a Sat morning would be enough time for egr valve.

    Rex Gorrell Landrover in Geelong are they any good ?

    I live in Geelong, went into Rex Gorrell today for a couple of small minor parts.

    Conversation went like this:

    Me: Hello, I wonder if I can get blah, blah,blah parts?

    Parts Bloke: For which vehicle?

    Me: A D2.

    Parts Bloke: Whats a D2?.... (Thinking to myself have I just entered a Land Rover Dealer or the Twilight Zone....)

    Me: Err... A Land Rover Discovery 2....


    After some time of staring at his computer screen, bloke said

    they didn't have the parts, said would have to order in, parts were nuts for

    one of the exhaust down pipes.Time was near 4.55pm, don't think they

    could be arsed to be honest.



    Ended up getting them from Super Cheap Auto.....

    As I said, I live in Geelong, which is why I get my parts from Melbourne City

    Land Rover when I can, if I have to visit the stealers. I always get the

    feeling I am being a nuisance by daring to go to the counter and want to

    purchase parts for my landy at Rex Gorrell, where as MLR couldn't be more

    helpful or friendly.

    I did approach one of the sales guys at Rex Gorrells a few years ago (3) and

    asked him a few queries regarding a D2. He could not really answer them,

    they were not hard technical questions either.I walked awy from there

    thinking the guy was just a salesman and knew stuff all about Land Rovers.

    So my dealings with Rex Gorrell have not filled me with a lot of faith, but as I said

    I only go there for parts when I have to, or will go into MLR in Docklands.

    But to be fair I cannot comment on having your Landy serviced by Rex Gorrell

    as I have never had them service my vehicle. I use Ritters in Melbourne for

    that.
