Yes, sounds about right. Redline oils aren't cheap either but very good quality.
40,000km interval services are where the drivetrain oils get changed, coolant and brake fluid flushed, filters renewed and at 80,000km wheel bearings should get a look at also. (Except D2 and P38a etc that have sealed hubs)
If it were a Tdi, you'd replace the timing belt at 80K also. Makes the 80K service a bit pricey if ALL that gets done in one hit, we try and space it out a few weeks either side to avoid coronary complaints
