    Vibration after new suspension

I'm getting some moderate steerign vibration after replacing my front and rear shocks and damper.

Last service MR advised I need new tie rod end bushes. Would this be the cause of the problem, and if so, is it an easy job for a newby like me with a Rave CD to do myself?

Think you just mean tie rod ends (ie no bushes).
Its not a hard job, but you need to make sure you keep the same distance between the ends once you fit the new ones or the steering toe in/out will be wrong.

There are lots of causes of steering vibration, but I can't see how replacing shocks and dampers could lead to it. To some extent it depends on what you mean by vibration. High frequency vibration is likely to be the front prop shaft U-joints (or damage), and vibration at the speed of wheel rotation is likely to be wheel balance or tyre damage. Wobble when you hit a bump is likely to be swivel preload, and all effects are likely to be magnified by any free play anywhere in the steering or suspension, particularly tie rod ends, panhard rod bushes, wheel bearings and steering box, but also any other suspension bushes.

It helps if one puts the wheel nuts on the right way on both front wheels, instead of reversed on the right wheel!
