    Wiring location for brake controller

    I'm fitting my electric brake controller to the 110.
    Not being very familiar with the vehicle yet, I was wondering what is the easiest/best route for the wiring from the trailer plug forward to around the transmission tunnel.
    The controller will be mounted under the dash to the right of the gear lever.

    Is it best to run underneath along the chassis then up into the cabin, or from the trailer plug up inside the cabin and then forward?

    Any suggestions/advice appreciated.

    I have a 130 so it may not help. Sounds like i mounted unit in the same place. But I ran my cables into the fuse box then up in through behind the dash, then out throught the main wiring harness along the top of the chassy to the connector. Hope this helps. I have a TD5

    There may be a better way.

    After just running a bazillion new wires for various accessories, I would suggest running your cables from the trailer plug up along the left hand side of the chassis to the battery box or transmission tunnel. If you run the cable on top of the left (passenger side) chassis rail, you'll notice that there are indentations in the bodywork to leave room for wiring or pipework (the fuel lines run through these indentations on the right hand side chassis rail), and the wiring will be offered far more protection. If you need to get wiring into the cabin for the brake controller then run the cable all the way up the chassis rail into the engine bay, and bring the wire into the cab either through the grommet for the fusebox, or the grommet at the back of the speedo.

    I started to run them along the RH chassis rail, but had a niggling thought about chafed wires together with fuel lines.
    I got distracted when I found my front propshaft uni joints were stuffed so gave up for the night. It was going to be a bit messy getting from the RH rail to the battery box anyway, so think I'll just pull it out again and route down the LH side.

    Don't just run bare wires - run your cables in a length of flexible conduit. It'll offer far more protection against both the elements and chafing, and it makes it far easier to run the next cable should you decide to make any more additions to your vehicle. You can pick up a 3 metre length for about $12 in most automotive stores.
