All in the owner's handbook for the fluid volumes but it and the check sheet are on RAVE or around the internet.

I've got a check sheet as a PDF somewhere if I can find it I'll post it up as an attachment.

Just google 'Defender 300tdi service manual'. You will be able to download a complete d.i.y. workshop manual. Its titled 1997 300tdi but its good for '95 '96 models. It's a free download.

If it's any help, I use these sheets to record my servicing my 300tdi. Being a sad case I carry out services every 5,000km which is approx half the recommended period. It provides an opportunity to keep on top of any developing problems and, given that the cost of oil and filters is relatively cheap, keeps the old girl in good order.

    The sequence is:

    • Big service
    • Little service
    • Middle service
    • Little service
    • Repeat sequence

    Inc - no i haven't.

dmdigital - i have a RAVE somewhere but can;t seem to find it at the moment.

    weeds - for ?

lardy - I got timing belt done a few years ago (when I bought it) but will be doing oils in all at least. Should prob do coolant too.
I pretty much want to do a service / preventative maintenace before a trip type of thing.

Better get busy with the penn oil then mate.
You need a large spanner to drop the gearbox oil ..was it 36mm??
difs 1/2 inch drive extention will crack those (maybe a oil pump of some kind to put new oil in)
I put some morleys oil in with the normal service oils in hope it benefits the vehicle (selects gear nicer)
If you have an air line and the air filter looks not to butchered give it a blow out.
the filler on the gearbox is a torx fitting don't know the size of the top of my head (help anyone)
If you stop for lots of smoko's should all take you 2-3 hours if you are methodical should be half that

Did you get my p.m. ?

2L milk container is perfect to drop the oil filter into as you unscrew it, also means no oil down your arm, overall less mess
