I went to super cheap and got a German made injector cleaner, went for a 20 min run up the highway and noticed it start to gain a little more power in the last 5 min, will see how it goes tomorrow, i will check the throttle cable also, thanks.

A little fuel doctor (the green stuff) with every tankfull will keep injectors running clean.

Weeds, city driving mostly, tried the injector cleaner it helped a bit, but still it looses a bit of power, I think i will try another dose of injector cleaner after oil change on the weekend.
I think i will look at getting new glow plugs and maybe the injector pump looked at.

Figured out the problem, the plastic outlet pipe on the fuel pick up in the side of the tank, from the tank to the fuel line where the fuel gauge is , had deteriorated and cracked so it was sucking air into the fuel line and loosing power.
I replaced the fuel pick up with a new unit and connected them with a clear piece of pipe so can see the fuel flowing, will put in a small line filter with reinforced fuel hose as a more permanent fix.
I called British off road in Sunshine coast about a second hand fuel pick up and they said it was a common problem that they become brittle and break after awhile.

Got a problem similar to discussed here .......new defender ....a month old
...........was running fine ......took it for a good drive to test it out ...200 ks there and back .......all good ....on the way home Engine light came on and on freeway lost power at 5 and 6 gears ........pulled over stopped ......turned off ignition ....restarted .....all good up to 5 and 6 gears ...lose power .........got off freeway and got home going no higher that 4 gear

Took to dealer .....changed an airs sensor? .....tested problem still there .......
Changed EGR ........problem still there ........
Appears to be an issue when the engine has had a good run at speed ....on freeway .........going back to shop to see what else can be done ........hope this can be found and fixed as loss of speed on freeway or in the middle of nowhere and limping along in 4 gear is not fun .............

Remove the filler cap and see if it still does it,has it been serviced lately?,I've seen loose fuel filters causing this trouble. Pat

What would removing the filler cap logic be ?
