We (the wife and I) are going to be going back to one car (ie. sell the disco and Mazda 2) and need a car that can do it all. I think from all that I have read and searched the TD5 seems to be the go. So what I am asking really is, what are your opinions on these and does the missus like driving it. This will be a daily hack and as such, will be well looked after. So not massively worried about the "problems" with TD5s. I just cant bring myself to buy a 3L Pootrol, or a thirsty Cruiser. I am definitely not going to go and buy a hilux or nivara. In my opinion, these are not 4WDs (ie. independent front end). Looking forward to the responses.

That's pretty much been the asking price for the last ten years.

What has Rick 53000 or what Ron suggested ??
It's interesting that they quoted 59k prior to finding I work for a government org, then they suggested 53k ...would be interested as to what you get for the whopping 20 grand reduction Ron quoted

Well, was speaking to the missus seriously this after noon about what we are going to do about transport, and it would appear that we have come to a compromise She gets to upgrade the Mazda 2 to a 3 or 6 and I get to upgrade the Disco 1 to a 130 DCPU Awesome. Came to the conclusion that it would be easier to still have two cars So all is sweet. Now I just need to win lotto and all shall be mine.
