    JW Speaker Model 8700?

Anyone in AUS bought a pair of these for their Defender yet?

    How do they perform?

Cool but I bet they don;t meet ADR requirements.
It's not broken. It's "Carbon Neutral".

According to this Document, they are allowing the use of LEDs in Headlamps.

Lexus LS460/600h, Lexus RX350/400h and Toyota Prius all use LED Headlamps.

The document outlines that if the beam pattern is the same as the currently allowed arrangement, then they are fit for use under ADRs. They also meet ECE regs, which are the basis for ADRs.

Have a look over on Defender2.net there are few in the UK and Europe with them fitted. Look like a great low current option but the price kills them, before the ADR rules. Wonder when they will be OK'd here... if ever.

Frankly I don't think the dollars justify the many reasons people should buy them.

I know they look good, I know they draw less power, I know they outlast Halogen globes, I know the light spread is better, I know they produce a better quality light, however I don't drive the truck every night from Melbourne to Sydney. If it was my livelyhood I'd consider it.

My lights are better than the Disco's and really are quite good after the Traxide wiring upgrade and +50 Halogens ($150 well spent) and for the odd long distance drive the Lightforce lights do a good job.

If I had $2,500 to spend freely it would go elsewhere.

And there in lies the biggest issue with these lights.

    What are the +50 bulbs?

+50 = Osram, Narva, Hella, Philips produce ADR compliant 55/60 w H4 globes with a higher output.

The light is whiter and brighter than the bog standard globe.

    Indeed.

The research says that yellow light allows the pupils to dilate and take in more light....not so good without UV protection during the day but good at night.
