The 280 part number is there too !!

WFX000280 Fuel Pump for Land Rover - 98.68 from LRDirect.com

I guess then if the 280 one is for the disco, then the 260 is for the defender ??

    cheers

You will find that the plastic swirlpot/sender unit will come apart, and there will be a pump inside.Just remove pump and compare to generic pumps for someone like Fuel miser.Have done this on many vehicles that use a similar setup.

    Thats it.

I did a pump change yesterday and you can easily swap over the float level gear.

Just buy a Disco one if the pumps are the same and swap over the float and electronic thing if needed.

Ive been looking for ages... (and I've previously posted on this)

there isnt an alternatively availalbe fuel pump that is a slot in job that makes the pressure AND the fuel rate required that doesnt cost more than an OEM pump without requiring additional mods that IMHO compromise the ability to restore the original pump or the longevity of the repair.

thats a complete drop in unit hes selling I havent tried it.

What Im getting at is pulling the existing unit apart and being able to walk into somewhere reasonable and saying "hi give me pump X from vehicle Y" and then being able to slot that into the existing housing. without major irreversible modifications to the pump setup. Sort of like going and buying the $80ish dollar VN/VK in tank fuel pump and dropping it into the V8 Discos pump housing.

    Dave,

If I buy one, (Allmakes) would you give it a once over please?

    Considering how cheap they are.
