I have two boys who are complaining about the comfort level of the rear seat in my County, I thought the defender rear seat would be more comfy
I stumbled across this conversion in a 130 Dual Cab, could be an alternative worth considering.
I have a defender 110 that my daughter (now that she is older) is complaining about the comfort of them, I have looked through the other pages on this forum and have not found anything about replacing them or modifing them.
Has anybody done this?
I have been thinking of putting in Delica type seats in the back?

OK Jerry, that is exactly what I am currently looking at doing in my 110.
Do you have any more detail about that conversion?
If I can't get better seating for two growing kids in the back, I'm afraid I will have to get rid of my beloved Defender. The kids have voted to keep the Defender - the missus is yet to be convinced.
I have looked at this and you have to remember to get an enginners cert easier in a 130 as it has a rear seat box to mount off
That was the only picture I had of that conversion, although it should be easy enough to do.
I'd like to get a set of Dormatic seats from Jim at www.dormobile.co.uk but I'll have to keep saving, or sell the house
Those seats and cubby box look like front seats from the Defender. As Lardy points out, the seat box in the DC would make the job easier.
I'll have to make up a frame and then get it certifed for a blue plate.
You could always get a motor trimmer to reupholster the current seats with more/better/denser foam.
Thanks Jerry that looks like a great idea,
I have looked at getting the seats re-trimmed but it is the seats being in an amost upright position that on long drives the daughter complains about. if i could get them to lay back even just a slight bit more it should suffice.

Subscriberassuming that you have a 60/40 rear seat, you could replace them with individual adjustable seats from Exmoor Trim, either highback, lowback or combination. You will need to replace the frame with their recliner frame kit and then whatever seats you choose (x3). Not a cheap option however.
Those Exmoor seats and frames look brilliant, but I shudder at the thought of freight costs to Australia.
I would like to actually move the seats back by (say) 100mm into the cargo bay to get more legroom, so it looks like a custom frame will be required anyway. I'm thinking that I will only fit two bucket seats, like the setup shown in the photo of the DC.
