    Front ABS Sensor

    Hey guys,

So I have my new front ABS sensor for my 2000 110 Td5 sitting at home and I'm thinking of replacing it myself this weekend.

Couple of questions... I'm guessing its easy enough from reading the haynes manual but just wanted to check if anyone had any tips??

Another question which may be stupid, but is is self diagnosing on the ECU?

Thanks in advance for your help!

have you made sure the sensor is pushed all the way in, they can bring the lights on and the code will be air gap large/ sensor harness broken so just make sure there all the way home, all you do is gently tap it down till it stops,

I havent actually gotten around to even pulling the wheel off yet to be honest. Ill be sure to bear it in mind though. Is it all fairly self explanatory when I do pull the wheel off?

dont even have to pull the wheel off, just put it to full rh lock, they just slid in and out, nothing holding the sensor in as such, its all very easy, they can allso fail at the conector for the sensor in the wheel arch, if thats the case just cut both connectors and join them, dosent matter witch way around the wires go,

if you do pull the wheel off check the wheel bearing free play, if thats very loose it will put up a abs fault,

almost got it.... managed to get the old sensor out but there was no way from that angle i could get the new sensor back in.

Im gonna pull the wheel off tomorrow morning and hopefully should have a better angle of attack on being able to actually push the new sensor in!

    SO CLOSE!

    DONE!

Was a nightmare this morning but managed to get the old bush out, and got the new one in and the new sensor in... I did have to take the wheel off though...

All the warning lights are out and the car is behaving well! Wooop!

    Thanks for advice.
