    Fitting a canopy to 94 130.

    Hi there,
New to landrovers. I'm considering purchasing a 1994 defender 130 and would like to put a canopy on it. I've noticed that the rear tub forms part of the body, it's not seperate from the cab, if that makes sense. So, my question is, does that prevent me from fitting a canopy? Do I need to look for the latter style where the tub is seperate from the cab? Any advice would be great!

The tub is actually separate from the rest of the body. There are quite a few options for canopies.

I would recommend getting some kind of cover even a flat tarp I reckon it marginally improves economy .....but you will be driving an ali brick so drag will be there no matter what.
I had a tub top customised for my 130 and it is gas strutted that is one option the other is to go with either a custom tarp and hoops or look at getting land rover hoops and tarp and as Juddy indicated that comes down to personal preference......keep an eye out on the markets (at the top of your screen) good luck Andy.

    I think a 130 tub is 1500+ by 1600+ ball park figures

As Lardy said, its really down to what you want, based upon how you will use your 130.

Lardys, special rear lid is a really good idea, and gives you a idea of what can be done.

I have seen a number of diferent GRP canopies, over the years, but i dont think anyone makes them any more, ( maybe wrong ).....

You could even get a custom one made up to suit your needs, with storage lockers etc down the side.....
