    Crew cab 6 seat options

    Hi all.

Just poped over from Disco land

a mate is looking at getting a Diesel hilux 4x4 and then fitting the seats in the front out of the 2x4 Work mate ute to get the six seats that he can take all the 4 kids out on occasssions but mainly use for work as a traddie.

I was wondering if there is a middle seat that can go between the front seats to make them a 6 seater. I think there would be more room then the Hilux.

    Any ideas out there?

    Cheers

    Matt

There used to be a front middle seat option which replaced the center storage box on a 110. I dont think a 130 would be any different in this respect in terms of fitment.

I converted my 110 to 3 front seats this way - the center seat bolted in and I had to fit a lap belt using the inner seat belt mounts for the left and right seats. Also needed a mod plate (QLD) for the change in seating capacity.

My '95 110 c/chassis is a 3 seater, Just got rego papers fixed up as they had it as a 2 seater for the last couple of years and I hadn't noticed, wanted me to pay a mechanic to read the compliance plate, as older vehicles not on RTA database- always been 3 seats as stated on compliance plate.
They started putting seating capacity on NSW rego a couple of years back (when c/chassis weren't available in Aust.). I think design rules might have changed then as middle seat not offered on current model- leading the RTA to assume older c/chassis were 2 seat as new ones are
You'd have to get engineer's ticket and seating capacity changed to be legal

If you get a seating specialist to do it, they will provide the engineer's certificate. Then (in NSW) you just take that to a garage that can verify them for issuance of the pink slip - and then file it with RTA. It's an afternoon's job (the certification)...
