Puma Key - new one cut- Now a question

    Hi Everyone
I need some advice re the security system on the Puma.
I have just had a key cut (without the electronic parts- see below) so I can lock the car and go for a swim and it won’t matter if the key gets wet.
    My question is:
If I accidently use this key in the ignition, when the ‘proper key’ is in the cabin, will the alarm be activated and will the car ‘shut itself down’?
    Thanks in advance.

The fob must be within a couple of inches of the ignition. This is part of the immobilizer not the key. Key has no electronics in it.

Like the man says... just take the fob off and lock car with key.
OK, all the fancy security systems don't work but at least you can go for a swim with the key. It's just a key
