Defender Td5 traction control, can it be turned off

Guys. Did a search and came up with no answers
Can the traction control on a defender td5 be turned off?? Not interested in pulling the module plugs out or fuses.

    Why not ?
AFAIK there is no other way to do it.

Youi could always put a switch in line with the fuse I suppose.
It's not broken. It's "Carbon Neutral".

I have been told that you can, something about pressing the brake ten times in ten seconds. Turning the ignition off returns it back to normal.

I have never needed to do it so I can't confirm if that's it.

I tested mine on a very steep track in Collie at idle speed in the Puma. Almost stalled out as TC cut in at one stage because the ground was broken. I think the wifes TD5 would do the same. I must say it was one hell of a hill and I was shocked that it would do it both down and up at idle speed fully loaded. I think a must is to over ride the TC with a switch for sand dunes though but I also dont want codes flashing up perticulaly on the Puma (warrenty Issues)

Guys why do you want to do this?

If TC is bogging you down in a TD5 then your in trouble

If its bogging you down in sand then your tyre pressure are too high, or you're in quicksand..

Never, ever, had an issue with TC on a TD5 in any condition sand, mud, shale, dirt or rock...

Agree with Tombie, TC far better open diffs.
Change your driving style. I did. Now I can go further double-locked 4wds, no matter mud or sand, because of driving style.

Depress break 10 times in 10sec and it is off. Works on mine, post 2003 TD5
