    FM Radio frequency hopping

    Chaps and chappesses,

Just a quickie on the new Puma radio. Apologies for teaching egg sucking but the well known LR dealer here in Perth didn't clock this one.

The radio can be set up for Asia, Europe and N American. They usually have Europe set up for the Australian ones. This will give you long wave (LW) stations, as well as RDS, which can't remember its official title, but just maintained one station while matching various frequencies over the length of the UK, ie. if you wanted to listen to BBC Radio 1 from lands end to john o groats.

In Perth, this feature is r**ted, as it would try to 'find' the broadcast while skimming freqs (displayed via the annoying beep, then silence as it hunted). Great for driving through tunnels and periods of weak transmission.

Get into the owners book and via the on/off sw, you can change the set up to Asia.....no Long Wave and no frequency hopping!!!

    Hi,
thanks for that, I've had mine 7 months now and have only used the radio for testing the GPS FM output.

    cheers
