Just trying to get a feel for rear cargo storage solutions for my 110. I currently have a black widow single drawer system and store plastic containers with food, cooking equip, etc on top of this, but these tend to move around a bit. I also find that with the single rear door the area above the rear wheel arches make packing a bit awkward. I was thinking of some integrated storage system using stackable, interlocking containers that also maximise the use of the space above the wheel arches and allows easy removal/replacement of the stacked containers.
A mate who owns the MaxTrax company (so does a LOT of off-road touring) has a cage built for the back of his 100 Series. Basically think of a box steel frame, with mesh over the top, back and sides. The left side contains his fridge on a slide and the right side has tubs that slide in and out like drawers.
Very well thought out, and also allows other items to be stacked around and on top of it, and be tied down using the mesh.
If I wasn't looking to sell my 110, it's what I would be doing.
This the setup we have in ours, On right side we have a box system rather than a drwer, this was done due to width nad whe towing our
T-Van we have a short drawer bar. Caused gief once when we required recover gear and could not access the drawer on our old vehicle..
The shelf part on top of the fridge area has a box access to the rear and the side up to the window is also a deep box.,
This system works very well for us.
We do a lot of traveling and have found a simple board across the top of the wheel arches weeks for us - but then there are only 2 of us traveling now so we remove the rear double seat section.
We also have adequate fuel and water storage elsewhere on the vehicle and keep the fridge so it can be accessed from the front of the car.
